As the country battles against COVID-19, cyber criminals have been reported to be using this pandemic as part of their social engineering campaign to trick the public into revealing personal information and credentials.
One of the most used tactic is Phishing, where scammers send messages, impersonating financial institutions or other organisations through emails, SMSes, social messaging platforms (E.g. Facebook, WhatsApp), or phone calls. Phishing attacks may come across as trustworthy and users are tricked into believing the authenticity of the message.
Please be informed that RHB Bank will never ask our customer to reveal and update personal information and credentials via emails, SMSes, messaging platforms or even over the phone.
We would like to remind our customers to remain vigilant and protect against cybercrime at all times.
