RHB Bank knows customer concerns for security when they perform any transaction via the Internet. We have in place security system to ensure that customers’ information and any online transactions performed are safe and secure.

We have implemented data protection measures to safeguard your personal information which include the following:

  • We deploy multiple levels of firewalls in between our internal systems and the Internet.
  • We use the 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to protect the confidentiality of customers’ information and transaction data.
  • Only valid Username and Password will allow you to log in to our Internet Banking website. This ensures that only authorised users are accessing their account information or performing online transactions.
  • To protect you, the system will automatically log you out of your Internet Banking session when it detects inactivity.

It is important that you maintain the secrecy of any Username, Login PIN and other Passwords and Security Codes you hold and protect yourself when performing any online transactions. Your role in safeguarding your Personal Data and Account Information:

Password Management

  • You should not choose a Login Password that is likely to be guessed by anyone trying to access the Service pretending to be you. For example, you should avoid choosing your Login ID, telephone number, identification number, birth date or other personal information as your Login Password. Also, avoid using repeated digit or character more than once like 49J4wJep or sequential numbers like 654321.
  • You should take all reasonable steps to ensure that you safeguard your Password at all times. You must not disclose your Login ID or Password to anyone. RHB Bank staff will never ask for your Login ID or Password for any reason.
  • You must not record your Login ID and Password in a way that could make them recognisable by someone else or use it when someone can see it.
  • You should change your Login Password regularly and may do so if or when the Service requires you to do so. You can easily change it online at RHB Internet Banking site.
  • You should not use the same password on Internet Banking as telephone banking.

2-Factor Authentication

  • You should not reveal to anyone the One-Time-Password (OTP) that has been sent to you via SMS. The OTP will be sent via SMS to your registered mobile number with us.

Avoid Using Public Computers

  • You should avoid using public or internet/cyber cafes computers to access account information or perform online banking transactions.

Don't save your Login ID and password

Some Internet browsers store and list possible matches from words or entries that you have typed previously. You should prevent any Login ID and passwords from being stored in your browser by deactivating the function before you begin your Internet session.

  • If you suspect that unauthorised persons have accessed your account(s), please change your password immediately and contact us.
  • You should regularly check your bank account balance and transactions and report to us any discrepancy within 14 days.

Additional good security practices when using Internet Banking

  • Install anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall software in your computers, particularly when you are linked via broadband connections, digital subscriber lines or cable modems.
  • Update the anti-virus and firewall products with security patches or newer versions on a regular basis.
  • Remove file and printer sharing in your computers when you are connected to the Internet via cable modems, broadband connections.
  • Make regular backup of critical data
  • Log off the online session and turn off your computer when not in use.

Phishing Scam and Suspicious Email

At RHB Bank, privacy and security for our customers have always been our priority. As your banking partner, we ensure that banking online remains safe and secure for you at all times.

One of the most common cyber threats to the banking industry today is phishing. It is an attempt to fraudulently acquire your account details that will be used to gain access to your account. Fraudsters will send you an email containing a link to a fake website in the hope to collect sensitive information such as your Password, IC and ATM card number.

Please note that the Bank will never ask you to reveal sensitive information pertaining to your account. If you have responded to these emails or SMS, please contact our Customer Care & Contact Centre at 1800 323 0100 immediately or +603 9145 1388 (for overseas).

Spoof Website

Spoof websites are fake websites that are directed to by phishing emails. These websites appear authentic but are, in fact, the mechanism for capturing your personal details.

These sites will often contain incorrect grammar or spelling, which is usually an indication that they are not authentic sites.

We will attend to any claim or dispute that arises out of RHB Bank Internet Banking services. If an investigation needs to be conducted, we will revert to you within seven (7) business working days of your registered complaint. More complicated issues may require an extended period of time and we may consult you during the progress of our investigation.

For the safety of all our customers, we recommend specific details of your transactions not to be disclosed in your initial feedback.



E. Unavailability of Internet Banking

In the event RHB Bank Internet Banking Service is temporarily unavailable, you may still perform your transactions via other channels: visit any of our seven (7) branches, RHB Bank ATM machines and/or AXS machines.
