Manager/Senior Manager, AML Investigation

Job Description

Primary Objective:

  • To supervise the AML investigation team on a day-to-day basis in carrying out investigations on suspicious transaction activities
  • To act as a checker for the AML investigation team to ensure maker and checker process in place.
  • To file suspicious transaction reports, if necessary, to the relevant authorities within the stipulated timeline
  • To escalate cases to senior management, where appropriate
  • Perform post mortem analysis or case follow-ups as and when required
  • To liaise with the relevant stakeholders in handling Production Orders and Information Requests issued by the authorities

Key Responsibilities: 

AML Investigation

  • Assist the AML transaction monitoring team with further investigations, if necessary, by escalating to senior management
  • To file STRs to the relevant authorities and attend to any follow-up requests from the relevant authorities to ensure proper closure
  • To maintain the register of STRs filed/not filed
  • To liaise with the relevant stakeholders in handling Production Orders or Information Requests issued by the authorities.
  • To assist Team Lead of Transaction Monitoring and AML Investigations in carrying out any necessary reporting to management as well as other stakeholders

 Other function(s)

  • Work closely and support other AML compliance teams to strengthen and further mitigate residual AML/CFT risks
  • Work with other business units to foster good working relationship to increase the level of AML/CFT awareness
  • Perform any task or participate in projects as required by the management
  • Work closely, and support other teams within the Compliance Department

Qualifications

Formal Education:

  • Bachelor/Diploma and above in Business, Accounting, Finance and relevant disciplines

Professional Accreditation:

  • Preferably with AML professional qualifications/certifications

Preferred level of Experience (by years/function/industry):

  • Preferably with at least 4-8 years of experience in AML Compliance in related industry

  • Self-driven and meticulous
