Job Title

Manager / Senior Manager - Financial Crime Compliance

Job Description

Primary Objective

  • Responsible for conducting AML/CFT and Sanctions compliance reviews and risk assessments
  • Independently designs and develop review programs where required
  • Identify AML/CFT risks, systemic procedural and control weaknesses, and provide suitable recommendations and resolving actions
  • Perform management reporting for findings and risk issues identified
  • Tracking, and monitoring of recommendations / resolving actions to ensure that these are completed within agreed timelines, and reporting these to the MANCO
  • Escalate key issues and report findings to Team Head and respective Business Heads.
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors and regulators and assist with closure of known issues and disclosure of control weaknesses
  • Document and perform record keeping for reviews conducted
  • Stay abreast of AML/CFT regulatory changes and trends, and provide timely dissemination of industry best practices and regulatory updates to ensure awareness by the relevant business units
  • Liaising closely with Internal Audit in coordinating annual testing and review plan
  • Support the team head and team with regard to ad-hoc AML/CFT projects/reviews and requests

AML /CFT Compliance

  • To keep updated with regulatory changes on AML/CFT and proactively ensure that the testing and assurance program is continuously updated
  • Work closely with Business Units and Branches to identify risk issues and provide advisory support
  • Assist with providing monthly management information reporting on AML/CFT risk issues and findings to senior management as and when required.

 Other function(s)

  • Work closely and support other AML/CFT compliance teams to strengthen and further mitigate residual AML/CFT risks
  • Work with other business units to foster good working relationship to increase the level of AML/CFT awareness and enhance the compliance culture of the Bank
  • Participate in AML/CFT training sessions as and when required
  • Participate in projects as required by the Team Lead / Head of Financial Crime Compliance or Country Head of Compliance


Formal Education:

  • Degree or Diploma and above in Business, Accounting, Finance and relevant disciplines

Professional Accreditation:

  • Preferably with Financial Crime professional qualifications/certifications

Preferred level of Experience (by years/function/industry):

  • Preferably with 5-8 years of relevant experience in the banking and financial industry (Audit, AML /CFT compliance testing, or advisory background)
  • Extensive knowledge of AML/CFT regulations

  • Knowledge of financial products, markets, and sales practices

  • Flexibility to work on ad-hoc AML/CFT projects and other AML/CFT areas/matters as required, including areas relating to new technological applications
